The new postage stamp collection for 2022 by Bpost has been announced and I’m very excited to be part of it! My first ever postage stamps will be about Belgian frog species. The new collection catalogue was also joined with an exclusive print of one of the frogs. I had great fun observing them in the field last spring and working on the composition of the sheet. It will not be until next summer that they are available, but here’s already a sneak peak of what they will look like.
A new illustration for the autumn edition of Natuur.Blad by Natuurpunt. This time I was asked to make an illustration of the common stinkhorn. A widespread fungus that you usually smell before you see it. I decided to draw a scene in which you can see the different stages of the fruiting bodies. The olive coloured head contains the spores, which are transported by insects that are attracted by the smell.
The latest books from Uitgeverij Van Oorschot arrived. Two new titles for which I was asked to design the covers. A watercolour of a drying cormorant and a digital drawing of a hiking nun.
