These watercolors were made on the Rauðinúpur cape, Iceland. A big colony of Northern gannets (Morus bassanus) nest here on the cliffs in front of the lighthouse. The first hour I just enjoying the magnificence of the place and observing the birds. Although it was a sunny day, I had to wear many layers to keep warm. After several pages of warm-up sketches I made this watercolor studies.
